Andreas Rothgangel receives € 500.000 grant for PhD project on telerehabilitation
Andreas Rothgangel recently received a grant of € 500.000 for his research project titled: ‘The PACT-PLP Trial: PAtient Centred Telerehabilitation Phantom Limb Pain’. In this multi-centre trial the development and evaluation of a genderspecific Telerehabilitation using Mirror Therapy is compared to care as usual on phantom limb pain, meaningful activities and quality of life in patients following limb amputation.
The grant was awarded by the ‘Ministerium für Gesundheit, Emanzipation, Pflege und Alter des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen’ (Ministry of Health), Düsseldorf in Germany for a period of three years.
Andreas’ promotion team consists of Prof. Rob Smeets (promoter, dept. of Rehabilitation), Dr. Susy Braun (co-promoter, dept. Health Services Research) and Dr. Sandra Beurskens (co-promoter, Hogeschool Zuyd).
