Klasien Horstman and Dirk Ruwaard ranked second and fourth
Two CAPHRI researchers nominated for ’most influential person in Dutch public health in 2010’ award
Two CAPHRI researchers were nominated for the ’most influential person in Dutch public health in 2010’ award of the Dutch Public Health Federation and the GGD Nederland. The awards were presented at the New Year’s reception of the Dutch Public Health Federation, Monday 10 January.
Klasien Horstman
Klasien Horstman ranked second among the nominees. She was nominated for her role in stimulating public and professional reflection on public health. “I experience it as quite an honour that as a philosopher/sociologist, without an institutional role in public health, I was nominated,” tells Horstman. “It illustrates the societal relevance of our work, of ideas, which is a hopeful sign.”
Dirk Ruwaard
Also CAPHRI researcher Dirk Ruwaard was nominated for the award. He has been working for several years in the field of public health, in research as well as policy. In his last position as director of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport he was able to bridge the gaps between policy, research and practice.
