On 20 May 2017, the International Tobacco Control (ITC) Policy Evaluation Project received the prestigious AAPOR Policy Impact Award. AAPOR is the leading organisation for survey research, both scientific surveys and polling as well as market surveys. CAPHRI participates in the ITC Project since 2008.
The ITC Project was created to evaluate tobacco control policies across countries. The project is an international collaboration involving 28 countries, and has collected many years’ worth of data on factors relating to tobacco use and quitting.
Members of the ITC Netherlands Project are Marc Willemsen, Gera Nagelhout, Hein de Vries, Karin Hummel, Dirk Jan van Mourik (all from the Department of Health Promotion), and Bas van den Putte from the University of Amsterdam (ASCoR). The fieldwork of the ITC Netherlands Project is conducted by Kantar Public Netherlands.
