CAPHRI, The Asssociation of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) and The Open Medical Institute (OMI) have joined forces to build a new Public Health Academy. Within this partnership several courses are offered to CAPHRI PhD candidates. From 27 October until 2 November 2019 the course 'Medical Informatics' will take place.
The course is appropriate for PhD candidates and physicians without any prior experience in medical informatics as well as those who are experienced using electronic health records but want to expand their knowledge in clinical decision support, administration, or state of the art areas like data science, human-computer interaction, and natural language processing. The seminar will include a combination of classroom didactic sessions along with highly interactive computer lab workshops, case presentations, and discussion sessions. These interactive sessions will give participants experience working with simulated electronic health records, designing clinical decision support interventions, and discussing critical issues surrounding EHR implementation.
The course will take place at the Open Medical Institute, Schloss Arenberg, Salzburg, Austria and is open to a maximum of 8 CAPHRI PhD candidates.
