Prof. Dirk Ruwaard has recently been appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) for a period of four years. The appointment can be renewed once.
The NZa Advisory Board consists of max. five members, meets at least twice a year and acts as an independent advisor to the Executive Board. It advises on strategic policy themes, the NZa’s strategic agenda, and on national and international developments that are relevant to the NZa.
The NZa protects the interests of citizens with regard to accessibility, affordability, and quality of health care in the Netherlands. With that in mind, the NZa sets rules, regulates health care providers and health insurers, and gives advice to the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS).
