PhD-thesis in Health Psychology (Utrecht University): 1999 (PhD-thesis 'Fatigue in general practice patients: an empirical study of fatigue in general practice patients and the development of the Quality-Quantity model for understanding fatigue')

Research on: Sickness absence, Work disability, Return-to-work / re-integration into work, Work-Life interference, Gender and health,  Cardiac rehabilitation,  Breast cancer and return-to-work, Work stress, occupational health policy evaluation, Stakeholder (employee, client, professional) perspectives, Multi-method research, student well-being and teacher well-being.

Regarding education, I am vice-director of the master Work, Health and Career since 2013. I am co-ordinator of the course on Strategies in Work & Health and co-ordinator of the course 'Life-long Healthy' in the first year of the bachelor Health Sciences. I am involved in diverse working lectures on occupational health (e.g. international policy comparison, prevention of burnout etc.) in the bachelor and master of Medicine. I am also involved in developing educational innovations within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, such as supporting student employability and wellbeing, working with portfolios and working in self-steering tutorial groups. Finally, I advise on projects to promote teacher wellbeing and to reduce their work demands.
