ZonMw grant for project on Joined Informed Decision Making in Prenatal Screening

10 February 2020

ZonMw has granted (390k Euro) a proposal to develop and test a new measurement tool to assess how pregnant women and their decision partners make choices about prenatal screening, such as NIPT. This gives more insight into how decision-making works with multiple decision makers. Knowledge gained from this project can improve counseling offered to prospective parents and develop more effective Joint Informed Decision Making support. Besides, it can be used to develop measures in situations where more than one individual is involved in decision making, e.g. vaccination. Ciska Hoving (RL Promoting Health and Personalised Care) is project leader. Also the University of Midwifery Education & Studies is involved in the project.
